Composite Pistons

Top Fuel Composite Piston

Our patent-pending composite pistons are 40% lighter than aluminum pistons, saving around 300 grams per piston! They also have superior thermal properties compared to aluminum pistons:

  1. Less thermal conductivity means more combustion energy is kept in the cylinder, leading to greater horsepower.

  2. Lower thermal expansion means our pistons have tighter piston-to-bore clearances. This reduces the amount of rocking our pistons experience at TDC and BDC, leading to smoother transitions and a better ring seal.

  3. Higher temperature capacity means our pistons can handle greater air-to-fuel ratios, increasing horsepower even more!

These factors contribute to greater efficiency and better performance of your engine, simply from switching to our pistons!

We are currently developing on 4.187” bore sizes, with plans to expand to other configurations and sizes soon!

Why Composite Parts?

Our composite parts are significantly lighter than traditional steel, titanium, and aluminum parts. Switching to lighter parts will increase your motor response time and acceleration. Lighter parts also carry less momentum, meaning they will put less stress on other parts and increase safety for your driver and engine.

Composites have a different resonance frequency than steel and aluminum which, eliminates the harmful harmonic effects that accumulate in an all-metal engine. Your other engine parts will also benefit by experiencing less stress and fatigue, making composite parts a long-term and cost-effective investment.

The properties of composites can be optimized for different situations by varying fiber types, fiber architectures, resin systems, and manufacturing processes. Through years of rigorous research and development, we have engineered each of our parts to leverage the benefits of specific treatments and formulas. Because of this, our parts are just as strong or stronger than incumbent parts while being a fraction of the weight.

These factors translate to a significant increase in the performance, longevity, and safety of your engine. As the leader in advanced structural composites, we are revolutionizing the automotive industry.
